It's Christmas!

Yep. Today was Christmas. The happiest, merriest, most jolliest time the of year. Two days, filled with quality family time and fun. Lots of snacks and treats, games and movies, and of course the laughs. And presents! This year Christmas was filled with all of it. ---> Even though there was no snow, I had to ship most of my presents and it was my first Christmas without my mom and little sisters and not being anxious for Santa to come... it turned out pretty great! It's always a fun time when you can get the family together in the same room.---> MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Best news I ever did hear.

Well for the past few weeks I have been working on a project for my application to FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising). I had to sketches & color six outfits, and get the fabrics i would make each piece out of. Sounds simple. No. Not really. Not when you are a perfectionist. I spent hours, days and weeks perfecting my sketches and putting it all together. I've been stressing super bad for that past few weeks. ---> So today was the day. I had my interview with the director of the school here in San Diego, to present my projects, and to see if I was accepted or not.Talk about nerves. If I wasn't accepted, I didn't get a letter in the mail. I was told in person. Stressful. ---> Good news. I was accepted! I start school in April. I will be at the San Diego campus for a year and then i will transfer up the L.A. campus for my second year! ---> This is definitely my dream, and my dream school!

So the director asked if she could keep my project. I didn't know they were going to keep it. So i wasn't able to get any pictures of it. So this is the only picture i kinda have of it. These are all just the rough drafts of my sketches. Hopefully when i get my project back i can put up the finished product!

bathroom. done. finally.

I finally got my bathroom done and put together! It's taken me some time but it is done. And i'm lovin it. --->
My bathroom was awful before. First of all...the floor was nasty white vinyl. The shower doors were hideous glass and gold sliding doors. The cupboards were...just awful. I still have the white tile counter tops. But i can live with those. For now. --->We put tile over the ugly vinyl. And i painted and antiqued the cupboards and put black hardware on them. --->
I seem to have and strange obsession with birds...
So i put birds in my bathroom.
I found a picture of a bird that i really liked. So i went with it. Found some cool bird, mirror, sticker things. And found a shower curtain that went with my picture. Put them together and Wah Lah! --->

it's nothing extravagant.it's simple. it's me.

Parade of lights.

The parade of lights is a tradition they have here in San Diego.All these people decorate their boats festively and they cruise around the bay downtown. It was definitely something different than we are use to, but it was certainly a fun time, and the Christmas spirit was all around. Even on water! ---> I got a few pictures. They aren't the best, but they give you an idea of what we saw. (:

a day in L.A.

On Saturday we drove up to L.A. to go out to dinner for my aunt Dawn's birthday. On the way we stopped by the fashion district in downtown L.A. so I could get some fabric---> I had never been there before, and I thought it was just a big warehouse full of fabric. NO. It's not. It's a whole street of stores full of all kinds of fabrics and trimmings It was unbelievable. You could find any kind of fabric you were looking for. ---> After, we went and had dinner at a The Grand Americana at a place called Grandville... And then we had Stewies Shave Ice for dessert. Yum! (: It was an all day even traveling up to L.A.(because of traffic) but it was a fun time.
